The Vendee Globe is approaching!
The 6 November at 1:02 pm local time, 28 skippers will move offshore.
This year, 28 skippers will be at the departure of the 8th edition of the Vendee Globe, at the Sable d’Olonne, which are 8 more than last year. 10 different nationalities representing 4 continents will participate to the competition. The Vendée Globe is a worldwide competition without stopover and support. The 6 November 2016 at 1:02 pm, 14 competitors who already participated to this course and 14 new sailors will join a great new adventure, worldwide, sportive and human. This year, Fabrice Amedeo from the Newrest-Matmut team will join this great-unknown adventure.

- 8 and 9 September: Skippers’ briefings
- 14 September: Press Conference in Paris
- 14 October: Presence of the skippers and boats in Les Sables d’Olonne
- 15 October: Official opening of the Village in Les Sables d’Olonne
- 6 November: Start of the Vendée Globe
- 7 November: Opening of Race HQ in Paris
