Since October 2015, Newrest Remote site has been providing hotel and catering services for the nickel and cobalt production complex at the Deep South plant in New Caledonia.
With a surface area of 19 hectares, the Vale industrial complex includes an open-air mine and an ore-processing plant. This is a global project, with Vale being the 2nd largest nickel producer in the world.
Newrest Remote site operates on the base and satellite structures of the Grand-Sud plant, which total one million meals and some 300,000 nights per year. Vale has chosen to continue its collaboration with Newrest initiated in the Sultanate of Oman, where nearly 450 people have been taken care of in the Sohar restaurant since 2011.
Since November 2012, Newrest Remote site manages the accommodation and catering services of Ambatovy, a nickel and cobalt refining site in Madagascar.
With a total investment of $ 8 billion, it is one of the most ambitious industrial projects in sub-Saharan Africa.
Newrest Remote site works for its client, the Ambatovy Consortium, on three sites: two in Tamatave and one in Moramanga.
Since December 2012, Newrest Remote site has managed hosting and catering services in Alma, the largest telescope radio in the world, located in the Atacama Desert in northern Chile.
The site has a unique and exceptional location since the site Alma Operations (OSF) is located at 2,900 meters above sea level and the network of antennas positioned at 5,000 meters above sea level on Chajnantor plateau.
The 90 employees of Newrest Remote site provide catering, cleaning, hotel, laundry and maintenance services for a total of 320 scientists and collaborators.
2,900 meters : This is the highest altitude where Newrest digital solutions are deployed. At this base camp, located at the ALMA Observatory, in the Atacama desert, all the Group digital solutions are deployed: Newrest application, digital signage, digitisation of the household organisation and maintenance on the site.
