Newrest engages with One Tree Planted to reduce CO2 emissions in Canada
Newrest continues to work towards its goal of reducing CO2 emissions by 2025. In partnership with the non-profit organisation One Tree Planted, the Group is planting 3000 trees in Canada. There are areas of deforestation related to shale gas use in North America. This commitment is representative of the Group's environmental ambitions. It has a useful impact on reducing greenhouse gases from its operations.
A positive impact of partnership on reducing CO2 emissions in Canada, aligned with CSR 2025 objectives
Newrest is motivated by its own contribution to reducing its carbon footprint as well as an international tree replanting programme. Less travel comminated to more trees on the planet is good for the environment. This is perfectly in line with Newrest’s perception of its societal role. The Group and its clients have concrete actions that support the fight against global warming.
This is in line with “Be the Change”, the Group’s CSR charter. Newrest has the ambition to reduce its impact on the planet by 10% by 2025. This partnership represents a great step forward in the Group’s commitment. It also multiplies the desire of its teams to take part in this type of initiative. Thus, Newrest is an active player in positive change within the food industry.
The action targets to plant 3000 trees in Canada with the help of Newrest customers
A vast tree replanting programme has been set up with the help of One Tree Planted. Forests are the green lungs of the planet. It has long suffered damage from various industries.
As such, Newrest has decided to participate in the replanting of 3000 trees in Canadian forests affected by human activity. The Group then allows its customers to participate in this action by offering them a coupon for the replanting of 10 trees after their participation in virtual meetings. This reward system promotes the initiative to favour remote meetings that limit the use of transport and therefore reduce the carbon footprint.
This operation will run throughout 2021. It may be extended considering the great reception it has received from Newrest teams.
