"Le monde nouveau", a 3-day forum at the Palais des Congrès in Perpignan to discover, exchange and create solutions together, took place from March 28th to 31st at the Palais des Congrès in Perpignan (Pyrénées Orientales, France).
“Since its creation, Newrest has been concerned with the issue of sustainable development. “ – Olivier Sadran, La Dépêche du Midi, 26/03/2019 (Read the article in French)
Thus, to meet the challenge proposed by “Le monde nouveau“, the group Newrest first of all deployed all its know-how to delight the taste buds of the 300 guests present at the opening night, Thursday, March 28, at the Dominican Church of Perpignan.
The preparation of this gala dinner is the result of a collaboration between the teams of Newrest Restauration (subsidiary of the Group dedicated to restoration granted in France) and local actors. We especially thank Yannick Brousse, market gardener in Saint-Estève, Guasch, specialist of meat products in Perpignan, Les Perles Rares, Oyster bar in Perpignan, and Chez Juliette, creamery in Rivesaltes, for their presence during the evening. Bread of French tradition was made by Henri Poch, Best Worker of France, Ille sur Têt, CIVR, Conseil Interprofessionnel des Vins du Roussillon, invited us to discover and taste a selection of vintages and grape varieties from local vineyards. 100% organic and artisanal fruit juices were made at Soler by SiBIO!. We chose to purify the water of the city of Perpignan with the solution Nordaq® Fresh to improve the taste of food and wines offered during this evening. The floral decoration was signed Max le fleuriste, a renowned actor from Perpignan in the field of floristry. La Catalane de Location de Vaisselle, based in Perpignan, supplied the dishes and the toppings.
Newrest’s teams also provided catering services for the teams and the VIP / Partners area, as well as a beverage sale throughout the event. In total, nearly 2000 meals prepared on site and served for 4 days!
In the innovation fair, visitors had the opportunity to discuss with our teams around the “La Ferme Coralys” label. Support the local economy, reduce the carbon impact of our transport, improve the quality of our meals, participate in a taste education of our guests, everywhere in the world; our efforts are in the same direction. The initiative of the French charter “La ferme Coralys” is one of the notorious showcases of our efforts. The founding idea was to build supply networks close to our customers. Today, two networks exist: the Pommereaux farm in the Paris region which supplies 40 establishments with tomatoes and zucchini, as well as the Ressins farm in the Roanne, which supplies about 50 establishments in a much wider range of meat, dairy products to various vegetable products. This distinction validates the quality of all our procedures and commitments to our producers, our customers and our employees in three areas: quality, food safety and communication.
Newrest is proud to have been a partner of the 1st edition of this forum devoted to making “our greener planet blue”. Through this event, the Group is once again demonstrating its commitments, particularly those towards the planet.
