Following its acquisition of a stake in the Toulouse-based foodtech company Foudie, Newrest and its partners have taken a new step into the Dark Kitchen sector. The virtual caterer has just opened its second restaurant in the south of France, in Montpellier.
On January 6th opens the second Foudie restaurant, in which Newrest holds shares alongside other actors of the Toulouse ecosystem such as the artists Bigflo & Oli or the investment fund Tolosa.
This opening in Montpellier reinforces Newrest’s position in the very dynamic Dark Kitchen market. This project is an opportunity to work in a transversal way and create real culinary experiences in line with current trends. The Group’s focus through this project is on marketing and culinary know-how. The relevance and popularity of these consumer experiences will be an opportunity for Newrest to integrate them into its out-of-home food service offerings.
Newrest sees this venture as an opportunity to eventually create true commercial catering concepts.
