Newrest Austria, a contractual partner of ÖBB – the Austrian Federal Railways – is responsible for managing onboard service and staffing across all night trains. The Nightjets travel to numerous destinations throughout Europe such as Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, France and the Netherlands. The company carries forward the legacy and expertise of the historic Compagnie des Wagons-Lits, following its acquisition by the Newrest Group in 2010.

All staff members on board the Nightjet trains are employed by Newrest, ensuring consistent service quality and full operational responsibility, including passenger safety. Our on-board service combines comfort, efficiency, and a seamless passenger experience that sets new standards in night train travel.
Newrest continuously enhances its culinary offering with innovative menus designed by renowned chefs, using high-quality ingredients that align with modern expectations for both taste and sustainability.
As trains undergo ongoing technological upgrades, Newrest supports this evolution by offering the passengers the possibility to order online, via onboard ordering terminals, through e-commerce platforms, ensuring convenience at every step of their journey.
