In-flight catering is the core business of catering units in South Africa with a well-balanced network of long-haul, regional, national and charter operations.

Dnata Newrest JNB also manages two major salons at Johannesburg International Airport. The unit is kosher certified, with separate workflows to meet all the specific requirements and obtain the highest standards.
The JNB unit is also ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 certified.
In the 2016-17 financial year, the South African Newcastle teams from the Johannesburg production unit had the pleasure of welcoming the Australian airline Qantas which operates a daily Johannesburg / Sydney route in B747. The launch of the high season with a second big A380 bomber on British Airways was also a crucial moment for this major customer and was successful for the Newrest nnata teams. The new Durban production unit is now complete. The joint venture operates from 3 Air Refinery production units in South Africa: Johannesburg, Capetown and Durban.
In terms of human resources, dnata Newrest conducts a training program for young executives in the field of air long haul with:
→ 3 juniors of different nationalities, as part of the Graduate Program, integrated in 2017 in the Johannesburg and Capetown units teams
→ 4 juniors selected from the best South African schools integrated in Johannesburg as part of the Graduate Program. Constant attention to the implementation of QHSE standards remains an everyday challenge.
The Johannesburg unit successfully passed the ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 certifications in May 2017.
