Newrest in the Moroccan press

Seen in the L'Usine Nouvelle magazine: Morocco: French Newrest boosted by growth in catering.

Newrest’s Moroccan subsidiary forecasts 20% growth in turnover in 2016. The main reason being the signing of new catering contracts for hospitals, universities and prisons.

The only company to do business in all areas of catering and related services, Newrest Morocco, which recorded turnover in 2015 of 712 million dirhams (1,000 dirhams = 93 euros) and employs 2,100 people, is set on expanding its business by 20% this year.

The Group has also acquired an eight-story building in the middle of Casablanca set to become its new headquarters. Newrest Morocco has thirty years’ experience of the country. It took over Eurest’s Moroccan business when it wanted to move out of the country in 2005, and since 2006 has become a joint venture involving the French Newrest Group and the Moroccan company Rahal, which provides catering services for the King of Morocco. It has also just won the catering contract for COP 22 in Marrakesh in November.

L’Usine Nouvelle met up with Newrest Morocco General Manager Marc Giraud in Casablanca to find out more about the Group’s objectives for 2016.
