A strategic partnership in the Canary Islands
Since December 2021, Newrest has been a partner of the Canary Islands-based airline Binter. It is one of the youngest airlines with one of the most modern fleets in Europe.
Every day, our teams offer Binter a personalized service with a strong cultural identity. Indeed, Newrest group strives to offer menus based on local products, for all its regional, national and international flights.
Local know-how
The group offers its customers local produce direct from the Canary Islands in the menus prepared by its chefs: fresh salads, fruit, local cheese and natural orange and banana juices.
One of Newrest’s commitments under its CSR charter is to promote sustainable purchasing practices. Favoring seasonal produce, local sourcing and implementing local production activities are among the many commitments made by the group.
Significant growth over the years
With a growth of over 55% in flights since the beginning of this collaboration, Newrest is now able to provide its services to an average of 145 daily flights, with over 1,800 meals served in the Canary Islands.
Binter and Newrest plan to extend their strategic partnership, with the arrival of new aircraft and new routes starting this winter. The group will continue to offer a range of products tailored to the airline’s needs, always drawing on the local know-how of its teams.
Newrest has been present since the early 2000s on 4 units in the Canary Islands, with its units in Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Tenerife South & North. This is a well-known and well-mastered geographical area for the Group, where summer tourism is a major source of income.
A major event
The Newrest and Binter teams were both present at the Madrid International Tourism Fair (FITUR), a strategic event for the air travel industry. Above all, it was an opportunity to emphasize the quality and local character of the menus and products on offer, the main thrust of the offer on which both partners rely. Newrest’s teams were on hand to support Binter and explain all aspects of the collaboration – a great moment shared between collaborators.
