In November 2016, the building works for the Newrest Inflight Catering unit at Bogota International Airport were completed after 6 months of construction.
The Newrest Bogota unit layout and construction plan was developed and supervised by the Newrest Group Technical Department, with vast experience in numerous inflight catering renovations and constructions around the world.
The unit is fully operational and will commence services at the beginning of 2017.
The Newrest BOG catering unit is located within the Bogota Free Zone, 7 km from the El Dorado International Airport. Consisting of 2.092 m2, the unit is equipped with state of the art facilities. The unit’s unique location in the Free Zone brings together exceptional security and customs facilities for our clients, following not only all Airport Safety and Security regulations but also those of the Bogota Free Zone.
In addition to the Inflight Catering Unit, Newrest has also leased 153 m2 holding space directly airside at the airport in the International Departures Area. This additional space at ramp is currently being fitted with final holding chillers, and allows Newrest to be flexible and swift in providing solutions to our customers in Bogota with issues such as last-minute orders, flight departure time changes, etc.
Newrest Bogota follows all HACCP and IATA/IFSA standards, and plans to be ISO certified by 2017.
