Newrest in Lusaka

In October 2010, Newrest bought 50% of First Catering Limited’s capital and started managing Lusaka’s inflight kitchen.

Since October 2014, the company has been  operating as Newrest Zambia Limited, following Newrest’s purchase of the remaining shares leading to 100% ownership.

The 1200 m2 inflight kitchen is located landside, 300m from the ramp to ease logistics and be as close as possible to our clients. Lusaka unit also features a bonded airline store and an in-house laundry.

Inflight catering is the main activity of Newrest Lusaka unit with a well-balance portfolio of long-haul, short-haul and VIP flights. The unit also provides catering services to Airport Lounges and school.

The unit currently supplies more than 1’500 meals a day for 7 main clients.

Newrest Lusaka unit is respects rigorously the safety and hygiene procedures with HACCP’s process and is Halal certified.

Newrest Zambia started building a new unit in August 2017 to be ready beginning of 2018.
